Welcome to the Island Cooperative Learning Center!Our mission is to inspire, nurture, and involve children and parents in the exploration of learning. As a cooperative preschool, our philosophy is to provide an educational and social setting that allows parents to participate in their children's learning environment. We believe that each child and parent are unique and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. Our program is for children ages 1 through 5, in which the emphasis is based on the development of the whole child: social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. Practicing Emergent Curriculum, our learning emerges from the children's and teachers' play, discussions, and interests. We explore their interests in an open-ended project approach using the classroom environment to support and represent our learning. Through art, drawing, writing, and other various mediums, we enrich their understanding of the world around them. | |||||||||||
